Why do Pure Batch products need to be refrigerated?

Mama Millin and her team are working super hard every day to produce batches that are preservative-free. That means we need the fridge to keep our batches fresh! There are no binders or fillers in our products, so the fridge also keeps the perfect texture and consistency for our batches to be enjoyed.

*Please note, all batches will be shipped with to you in cold conditions (packaged with a liner and ice packs) and must be stored in refrigerated conditions upon receipt.

Can I put Pure Batch products in my bag and take them to work, school, in the car, on a plane, on a train, etc.?

Of course! Yes… and you SHOULD! While Pure Batch is best (best: meaning optimal texture and consistency) when eaten cold, our batches can be left unrefrigerated for short periods of time and quickly brought back to life when popped back in the fridge for about an hour.

Can I freeze Pure Batch?

Sure! Our batches will keep for a much longer life frozen. Just keep in mind that extended storage in the freezer may cause a bit of ‘freezer burn’ over time and that optimal texture could be a bit compromised. We recommend going straight from freezer to fridge for an hour or two before enjoying any pre-frozen batches - with the exception of our our Cacao Chip Cookies which are INCREDIBLE straight out of the freezer! No need to thaw or defrost at ALL - just pull one out and enjoy the creamy taste! Just a little PB Pro Tip for you :)

Got my batches! Opened up a brownie and only ate half, so how long will batches last once opened?

All batches are good for 5-7 days once they are opened up! Think of your batches like you would any perishable product - a solid shelf life when packaged (ours are about 45 days from production on the truffles and 60 days from production on the cookies and brownies), but once opened and exposed to oxygen, standard shelf life is best within about 5-7 days.

Allergies/Ingredients

I have a really bad allergy, what can I eat? Am I safe?

Great question! Here's the real deal on allergies. Pure Batch is 13/14 major allergen free, and so is our facility. We are completely free of: Peanuts (that's a big one), Gluten, Soy, Eggs, Milk, Crustaceans, Fish, Celery, Mustard, Sesame, Sulphites, Lupin, and Molluscs.

Now, here's where it gets interesting. Our All Day Brownie and our Snickerdoodle Truffles are technically 14/14 major allergen free since they do not include any nuts (they do include coconut) BUT they are currently processed in our facility - which DOES process batches with other nuts. We do our very best to avoid any/all cross-contamination but if you have a severe nut allergy, we do not recommend you trying these products YET.

In 2020, we plan to move those products and any others we can to an allergen free co-packer. Please stay tuned for updates on our website and social media. As always, if you have any questions don't hesitate to contact us.

What kinds of sugar does Mama Millin use in Pure Batch?

We use only low glycemic sugars! Organic Maple Syrup and Organic Coconut Palm Sugar/Syrup in small amounts to add just a touch of sweetness.

How come I don't see dates in your ingredients?

Funny story actually. So, Mama Millin hates dates. Truly. She just simply doesn't like them and outright refuses to use them in her kitchen. To her (and it's an opinion) they have an unpleasant texture and taste.

Typically, companies with products similar to ours rely heavily on dates as a binder, but due to her feelings and opinions she has worked very hard to create a product line without ever touching a date!

What is Sacha Inchi? When I google it, I see that it says Sacha Inchi is sometimes called the Inca Peanut and I'm allergic to peanuts... can you please explain?

All these new superfoods are so exciting but sometimes can be confusing. We get it.

Do NOT worry. We are completely PEANUT FREE.

Sacha Inchi is actually a very powerful seed! More specifically, the seed of a plant that grows in the highlands of Peru. These seeds are very rich in protein, omega 3, 6, and 9, alpha tocopherol vitamin E, carotenoids (vitamin A), and fiber. This superfood is easily digested and unlikely to cause allergies or irritation.

Are Pure Batch products Kosher?

We are presently working on building funds for our certification! Due to the nature of our batches, there is nothing that would prevent us from attaining a Kosher certification and about 95% of our ingredients hold a certification on their own. That said, we know how important the blessing is when designating a product as Kosher. Out of respect for that, until we are formally certified and blessed, we do not advertise or market our batches as Kosher products and leave that up to the discretion of the consumer.

Is Pure Batch safe for diabetics?

Pure Batch is registered dietitian approved for people with diabetes, due to the sugars we use and the way they break down in your body! That said, we always encourage you to speak with your doctor first if you have any concerns about the way our batches may affect you. All nutrition information can be found under each product in the "Shop" section if our site and if you need any further clarification please don't hesitate to ask.

Orders

I placed my order — when will it ship?

Shipping is a bit tricky here at Pure Batch because all our batches need to be sent out via priority shipping, which means we don’t deliver on weekends unless there are extenuating circumstances. Mama Millin does her best to work around a weekday delivery schedule, based on shipping location.

Generally, any orders placed Saturday-Monday, will ship out by that coming Wednesday.

Generally, any orders placed Thursday-Friday will ship out between the following Monday-Wednesday.

Now Tuesday is an interesting day to order. Based on where we are shipping, your batches may be shipped out the next day (Wednesday), or Monday of the following week.

You will receive a tracking number via email once your order ships out.

We apologize in advance for any shipping delays out of our control. If you are ever concerned about the quality of a Pure Batch order due to unanticipated shipping delays, please reach out to us and we will do all we can to assist and accommodate you.

Where can I find Pure Batch in stores near me?

I live near Hillsborough. Can I pick up my order from your facility?

As or right now, you can. Mama Millin has currently designated time twice per week for local pickups. Thursday morning from 8am-10am EST and Friday afternoon from 3pm-5pm EST. When you place your order, please select which you would like as a shipping option.

Please note, we need at least 48 hours advance notice for any local ship orders. We will reach out to you directly if there is any issue with timeline!

Can I place a custom order?

We will do everything we can to accommodate custom requests. Mama Millin loves to make everyone happy, whenever she can. Please contact us to inquire about placing a custom order and we will get back to you ASAP.

I keep forgetting to order my [insert your favorite batch here] each week. It would be great if I can have them on re-order. Do you offer something like that?

I live in Alaska - can I order Pure Batch from your site?

If you live in Alaska or Hawaii, please reach out to us directly to place an order. Priority shipping is VERY high from New Jersey to either of those states and we want to make sure you're comfortable with those costs before placing an order! We hope to have a better solution for shipping outside the continental US within the next year, so please stay tuned!
